BRISTOL, Va. - DISH Network and the parent company of NBC affiliate WCYB TV-5 have reached a deal ending their rate dispute, station manager Jack Dempsey announced today.
The month-long dispute had knocked WCYB, local FOX affiliate WEMT and another local station off the air in DISH’s channel lineup. The stations are part of the New York-based Bonten Media Group. An early morning agreement put all three stations back on DISH.
Last fall, DISH went through a similar dispute with Media General, the owner of Johnson City CBS affiliate WJHL, and the result was a six-week service disruption.
