Middle schools to dismiss from D-B Friday due to game

KINGSPORT — Middle school students in Kingsport City Schools are asked not to ride bicycles to school Friday. And parents who pick up their  middle school students should do so at Dobyns-Bennett High School, not one of the city middle schools.

Because the annual Robinson vs. Sevier middle schools Varsity Basketball Game will be held at Dobyns-Bennett High School’s Buck Van Huss Dome, the entire student body of both middle schools will be transported to D-B Friday afternoon.

That means middle school students will be dismissed from D-B instead of Robinson or Sevier. The boys tip-off will be 1:15 p.m., while the girls tip-off willl be around 2 p.m. This is the first year in school history that the game will be held in the Buck Van Huss Dome Both middle schools will transport the entire student body in support of their teams.

Cheer and dance teams will also be participating in the game. All middle school dismissals will occur at D-B, including walkers, car pickup and buses that day
