Charter and WJHL-TV have reached an agreement to continue broadcasting the CBS-affiliated television station in 28 markets. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The agreement was announced in a press release today.
"We are pleased that Media General and Charter have renewed their retransmission agreement," WJHL Vice President and General Manager Dan Cates said in the release. "We thank our viewers for their loyalty to our station."
The deal comes just before WJHL, owned by Richmond, VA based company Media General, would have gone dark on Charter cable's lineup. The retransmission deal was scheduled to end at midnight Wednesday night.
WJHL avoided its second blackout from a subscriber in four months. The television station had a similar situation with Dish network.
