BREVARD, N.C. — Shelby Wolfe recorded game highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds as Brevard romped to a 91-68 South Atlantic Conference victory over Tusculum Wednesday night at Boshamer Gymnasium.
Hadara Bannister added 19 points for the Tornados (3-8, 2-5), who came into the game averaging just 55 points a game but nearly reached that total with a 50-point first half against the Pioneers (1-10, 1-6).
Brevard shot 45 percent (27-for-60) from the field including 7-for-17 from three-point range, and connected on 30 free throws in 42 attempts as a team. Meanwhile, Tusculum finished at 34.4 percent from the field (21-for-61) and was 22-for-32 from the foul line in the game.
Blakeley Burleson led the Pioneers and matched her career high with 18 points, while Nequoiah Anderson added 11 points and Shynese Whitener had 10 points and five assists. Four players fouled out of the game for Tusculum, which was called for 30 fouls as a team.
Madison Lenox also reached double figures for Brevard with 15 points to go along with six assists and three rebounds. Taylor Hiatt and Katie Williams had nine points apiece for the Tornados.
