BLOUNTVILLE — Police are searching for a man who allegedly claimed he was armed with a gun and threatened to kill employees of a Blountville drug store if the pharmacist would not give him drugs.
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office reports the incident occurred at 4:45 Tuesday afternoon at Blountville Drug Co., 3090 Highway 126.
The suspect entered the pharmacy and handed an employee a list of prescription medications, most of which were painkillers. He then said he was armed and forced his way behind the counter, where he demanded that the pharmacist give him the drugs on the list and told her he would kill
all of them unless she complied.
The man ran away after obtaining the drugs.
The suspect is described as a white male between 6 feet 2 and 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 250 lbs. He was wearing a ski mask, maroon windbreaker with gray stripes near the shoulder area and a tan hoodie underneath, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
