KINGSPORT — When the new racing season kicks off at Kingsport Speedway this spring, Robert Pressley will no longer be running the show.
It was announced on Monday that Keith and Ervin Stiltner will take over the operations of the short track with Karen Tunnell serving as promoter and general manager.
Tunnell worked alongside Pressley for the past three seasons at Kingsport Speedway and also has experience at Lonesome Pine Raceway and Volunteer Speedway, where she served as the competition director.
Pressley brought weekly racing back to the 3/8-mile oval in 2011 under the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series banner. Tunnell said she wants to pick up where Pressley started and continue growing the popular on-track product.
“I’m very excited for this opportunity. This has always been my dream, and I can’t wait to get started,” Tunnell said. “I plan to take what Robert (Pressley) has done the past three years and continue with them.”
