KINGSPORT — A mixture of high winds, cold temperatures and snow moving into the region has resulted in a winter weather advisory being issued for Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
The advisory, which was issued Thursday afternoon, expires Friday at noon.
The National Weather Service in Morristown said snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected depending on location.
The snow is expected to diminish to flurries around daybreak Friday.
Icy road conditions across the region are expected to remain until Friday morning.
