Tri-Cities Regional Airport is experiencing a lighting system outage that may affect scheduled flights this evening and early Sunday morning.

Passengers should check with their carrier regarding the status of their flight.

Maintenance crews are working to fix the problem.

TCRA Marketing Director Melissa Thomas said jet blast from a departing aircraft took out part of a temporary lighting system that was in place while a new permanent system is being installed.

One Delta flight has been diverted to Knoxville and several flights for US Airways and Delta are currently delayed, Thomas said.
