Police arrest two on Christmas Eve following separate theft investigations

JOHNSON CITY — Two twenty-somethings found themselves behind bars on Christmas Eve following investigations by Johnson City police into separate incidents taking place recently.

Jonesborough resident Jennifer Celeste Harris, 24, 117 Highland Road, is facing several charges, including four counts of identity theft, seven counts of forgery — three for more than $1,000 and four for less than $500 — as well as 17 counts of theft of property — three for more than $1,000, two for more than $500 and 12 for less than $500. She also faces a single charge of aggravated burglary.

According to police, Harris completed several loan applications using someone else's personal information. She also allegedly forged and passed several of the victim's personal checks throughout the Johnson City area.
