JOHNSON CITY — East Tennessee State senior Clinton Freeman continues to receive preseason college baseball honors. The Bucs’ two-way player received first team Louisville Slugger All-America accolades by Collegiate Baseball last Monday.
Last week he was named third team preseason All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Freeman paced ETSU last season in batting average (.335), hits (80), doubles (18), triples (4), home runs (10), RBIs (57) and slugging percentage (.569).
As a left-handed reliever, he went 7-1 with a 3.04 ERA and had eight saves in 25 appearances. In relief, he went 6-0 with a 0.65 ERA and converted all eight of his save opportunities.
Freeman played his high school baseball at David Crockett High School in Jonesborough.
