BLOUNTVILLE — A Middle Tennessee economic developer with experience in Tennessee and Kentucky will be the new regional economic development leader for Sullivan County.
The Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the NETWORKS — Sullivan Partnership announced early Thursday afternoon that Clay Walker of Gallatin Tenn., will become the next Chief Executive Officer of the organization, effective January 6, 2014.
Walker succeeds Richard Venable, who announced his retirement in July 2013 after serving as CEO for the organization since 2006. Venable is a former Sullivan County mayor and state representative who twice ran for the U.S. House.
Walker graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in 1986, and is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute administered by the University of Oklahoma.
