KINGSPORT — Police said a woman was severely beaten and robbed early Sunday morning after bringing home a man she met on an Internet dating service.

According to a report filed by Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Leslie Earhart, shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday deputies responded to a report of a robbery at a home on Anco Drive in Kingsport.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, reportedly told deputies she was attacked by a man inside her home.
She also stated that she had met the man, identified as Christopher Fralix, on the "plentyoffish.com" dating website.
“When Fralix came to victim’s home he attacked her and demanded money,” Earhart stated inher report. “Fralix choked the victim and struck her in the face several times, badly injuring her nose. He told her if she called police he would kill her and her child.”
Earhart added, “After taking money and the victim’s cell phone, Fralix left. The victim grabbed her child and ran to a neighbor’s home to call for help.”
The victim’s 20 month old child wasn’t harmed.
The victim was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Earhart said first dates with strangers, especially those found on the Internet, should take place in public where help can be reached quickly.
“It is never a good idea to arrange to meet someone for the first time at your home,” Earhart said. “In fact, you shouldn't invited anyone to your home unless you know them really well. Instead, arrange to meet that person in a public place for the first several dates and make a friend or family member aware of where you are going to be.”
Fralix was located at a residence on East Sevier Avenue in Kingsport, where items taken from the victim were also allegedly located.
Fralix was charged with especially aggravated robbery, especially aggravated burglary, especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
