ELIZABEHTON — The Carter County Sheriff's Department has announced that 46 of the 47 guns stolen in the burglary of a Stoney Creek gun shop have been recovered and two individuals have been arrested following an undercover operation late Friday night. The names of the individuals have not been released.
Sheriff Mathes said in a press release that the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation.
The guns were stolen from the Blue Springs Gun Shop. Proprietor Melvin Gray Oliver told investigators that he and his wife, Moira Joan Oliver, went to church that morning.
