A local couple suspected of stealing seven video game systems from a Kingsport Walmart have been identified, with the man arrested and a warrant issued for his wife.
Kingsport police say tips began "pouring in" shortly after images of the suspects were released to the media on Tuesday. That information reportedly led to Church Hill resident Brandon Anderson, 28, being located, interviewed and charged with felony theft.
Police say the female suspect in the Dec. 4 shoplifting incident has been identified as Anderson's wife, Piper Anderson, 29. Detectives planned to obtain a warrant for her arrest on Wednesday.
"The Kingsport Police Department wishes to thank the good citizens of our community who stepped up and helped bring two criminals to justice," reads a KPD press release.
Four Playstation 3s and three Xbox 360s were stolen in the incident at Walmart on Fort Henry Drive. The Andersons allegedly rolled the merchandise out of the store without paying.
Police say two of the stolen video game systems have been found, while an investigation continues to locate the other five units.
