Blountville woman dies from injuries in Fort Henry crash

Injuries suffered last Monday in a Fort Henry Drive crash have proved fatal for a Blountville woman.

Kingsport police report Elise A. Kiser, 53, died on Saturday afternoon at Holston Valley Medical Center. She had been in critical condition since the two-vehicle collision on Dec. 2.

It occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. at Atoka Lane and Fort Henry Drive as Kiser was pulling her 2007 Ford Focus out of the Walmart parking lot. Police say that in the intersection her car collided with a 2003 Ford F-150 traveling north on Fort Henry.

The driver of the pickup, Michael Bryant, 34, of Kingsport, told officers that he had a green light at the traffic signal when the crash occurred. Kingsport Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Patton says police have interviewed numerous witnesses to the crash to sort through the incident, with an investigation continuing.

Any additional witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are asked to contact the KPD Traffic Unit at 224-2750 or dial central dispatch at  246-9111.
