Fugitive wanted from gun incident in Washington County turns himself in

JONESBOROUGH — A man who was the subject of a two-day manhunt turned himself into authorities Monday, Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal said in a news release.

Jerry Cummings, 528 Hales Chapel Road, surrendered without incident at his residence, Graybeal said. Cummings was wanted on charges of aggravated assault and evading arrest from an incident on Sunday. 

Cummings had fled from deputies and a search was conducted of the Gray area around exit 13 of Interstate 26.Cummings was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $60,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Tuesday. Graybeal said more charges were pending from the Johnson City Police Department.
