• Christmas Lighting of the Tunnel will begin at 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday at Natural Tunnel State Park in Duffield, Va. The event will feature thousands of Christmas lights, Santa scenes, Christmas carols sung by local church choirs, campfires and hot cocoa. Cost is $3 for parking and $3 per person for the chairlift. Friday night is “Give a Friend a Lift” night. From 6 to 9 p.m., anyone who brings a non-perishable food item will receive a free chairlift ride. Carter Railroad Museum will hold its free November Heritage Day on Saturday when the museum presents “(Not Just) Steam’s Last Stand: N&W Railroading Today and Yesterday with Modern Heritage Units in Action.” The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday.
