KINGSPORT — Sullivan South started the basketball season with a bang Tuesday, sweeping both the boys and girls games from visiting Sullivan Central.
South's boys placed four players in double figures on the way to an 66-49 win over the Cougars.
Drake Crawford led the Rebels (1-0) with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Dalton Light added 12 points, Christian Comsa chipped in 11 and Evan Headrick had 10 for the Rebels.
“We shot the ball well tonight,” said South coach Mark Pendleton. “It was a good opening game for us.”
Luke Nussman had 14 points and Lukas Parker 10 for Sullivan Central (0-1).
In the night’s opener, Kayla Tipton powered her way to 14 points in the Lady Rebels’ 49-26 victory. Morgan Seymore added 13 and Brayden Hutchins 10 for South (1-0).
Anabel Bouton led Central (0-1) with six points.
