BLOUNTVILLE — There’s a new option for renewing or replacing your Tennessee driver's license in Sullivan County — Sullivan County Clerk Jeanie Gammon’s main office in Blountville.
Gammon and her staff launched the service in mid-September with little fanfare, an intentional move aimed at getting any problems worked out before widely promoting the new service.
On Thursday, Gammon told the Time-News the system is working great and she and her staff are ready to go full steam on the service.
The county clerk’s office is perhaps best known to most county residents as where you go to get or renew tags for vehicles.
That makes it a perfect tie-in for the driver's license service, Gammon said.
“It will work great for people to renew their tags and at the same time renew their driver's license at one location,” Gammon said. “You can renew a driver’s license anytime within a year of its expiration. So if you make note of that date, you can renew it whenever you come in to renew your tags within that timeframe.”
