ROGERSVILLE — Neither school brought home the big bucks, but Hawkins County’s two SCORE Prize finalists are both winners in the eyes of the Board of Education.
Thursday night the Hawkins County BOE honored Mount Carmel Elementary School and McPheeters Bend Elementary School for being named by the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) as two of Tennessee’s three finalists for top academic growth in the elementary school category.
The SCORE program recognizes the schools and districts which made the most academic improvement over the past year.
During the SCORE award ceremony held in Nashville on Oct. 28, Norman Smith Elementary in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School District won in the elementary category.
