BLUFF CITY — A Bluff City man died Friday evening after being ejected from the vehicle he was driving.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office reported Zachary Moody, 19, of Pleasant Grove Road, was driving an SUV in the 600 block of Pleasant Grove Road, shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Friday when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve.
The SUV left the roadway and flipped several times before coming to a rest on its top.
The sheriff’s department reported Moody was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle. Moody was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said speed was a factor in the crash.
