ROGERSVILLE — A Feb. 12 trial date has been set for a Rogersville woman who allegedly admitted that she had been huffing aerosol after being found slumped over in the driver’s seat of her truck Friday night.
Melissa Dawn Webb, 33, 712 E. Main St., Rogersville, was arraigned Monday in Hawkins County Sessions Court on one count of inhaling or possessing aerosol.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m on Friday, Rogersville police were dispatched to a complaint of a person slumped over in the seat of a green Ford Ranchero pickup in the parking lot of the Rogersville American Legion.
“Mrs. Webb had an aerosol can of Century Duster between her legs,” said Rogersville Police Department Officer Mark Cook. “The can was empty. Mrs. Webb advised she was huffing the Century Duster.”
Cook added, “Mrs. Webb also had two more cans of Century Duster in her vehicle.”
Cook said Webb’s speech was slurred and she was disoriented.
For Webb’s safety and the safety of others, she was arrested and transported to the Hawkins County jail, Cook added.
She was released from jail shortly after midnight Saturday.
