Kingsport concert with the Easters to honor veterans

KINGSPORT — Dove Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated artists Jeff and Sheri Easter will headline a concert to honor veterans on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The concert, sponsored by Lighthouse Productions, Rainbow Motors and Lozella’s Unique Boutique, will begin at 6:30 p.m., in the auditorium at Robinson Middle School Auditorium, Jessee Street, across from the Kingsport Town Center off Memorial Boulevard.

A number of free tickets has been designated for veterans and current military members of all branches of our military.

Joining Jeff and Sheri Easter will be KT Ministries and YoungSong.

A military presentation of the colors will be provided by the Third Squadron, Armored Cavalry Regiment of the Tennessee National Guard from Mount Carmel.

YoungSong will present a video behind their song, “Freedom” to honor our veterans. Lighthouse Productions is also an authorized sponsor of The Wounded Warrior Project.

Jeff and Sheri Easter come from musical families, Jeff from the Easter Brothers and Sheri from the Lewis Family. The Easters are now joined on stage by their own children. Madison plays guitar and sings, and Morgan, who has stepped up replacing Charlotte Ritchie, is a former Young Artist of the Year. Their 7-year-old, who was Jeff and Sheri’s 20th anniversary present, delights the crowd with her own song or drum playing. The Easters’ latest release is “Life is Great and Getting Better.”

KT Ministries consists of husband and wife Trey and Karen Dishner from Morristown. Karen is the former Karen McPherson and sang with New Covenant before going solo. Trey is well-known in the Kingsport area and served as music minister for several local churches.

YoungSong has traveled the country for years. Gene and Ann Young make up YoungSong and also have Magnify Ministries, which will also be coming to the area in June 2014. Ann is also a worship leader and will be leading the concert attendees in 30 minutes of pre-concert singing, assisted by the Dishners, starting at 6 p.m.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available throughout the area. Prices are $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. Artist Circle tickets are reserved at $15. To obtain the free tickets for veterans and military personnel, call (423) 677-5093.
