MORRISTOWN — Officials say three people have died in two early morning house fires in Hamblen County.
WBIR-TV reported that a 74-year-old man and his 4-year-old grandson died in a house fire just after midnight Saturday in Morristown. Sheriff’s officials say another man was able to escape the fire.
Authorities say fire crews were called to a second fire in Russellville, about two hours after the first call. Sheriff Esco Jarnigan says a 61-year-old woman was killed in that blaze.
The fire victims’ identities have not been released.
Investigators are trying to determine the causes of the two fires. Officials said there is no immediate indication that the blazes are related.
