MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Whether it is in Class AAA or AA, Sullivan South still knows how to win volleyball matches in the TSSAA tournament.
The Lady Rebels reeled off wins against Hume-Fogg and Signal Mountain on Wednesday to advance to Thursday’s winner’s bracket final against Christian Academy of Knoxville.
South (45-8) beat Hume-Fogg 25-18, 25-20, 25-16. Against Signal Mountain, the Lady Rebs prevailed 25-16, 25-18, 25-12.
“At this point, I think everyone is equal,” said South senior setter Hannah Johnson. “You’re at the state tournament and everyone wants it. It’s just kind of like dog eat dog. You have to go out and play hard because anyone can win.”
For the day, Johnson combined for 47 assists in the two matches while Haley Price had 28 kills and 18 digs. Rylee Milhorn added 37 kills and 16 digs with Brayden Hutchins coming up with 29 digs.
