JOHNSON CITY — The Tennessee-Alabama football game will be streamed live at www.wjhl.com at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, WJHL TV Vice President and General Manager Dan Cates has announced.
Since the first of the month, WJHL parent company Media General has been in a retransmission dispute with DISH Network. The latest salvo in the dispute came from DISH, which requested the Federal Communications Commission immediately require Media General to negotiate in good faith to resolve the blackout affecting more than a dozen Southeast TV markets.
WJHL, a CBS affiliate, live streamed the Tennessee-Georgia football game earlier this month. Both Media General and DISH have been unable to resolve rates to be paid to local TV stations offered to DISH subscribers.
In addition to seeing the game over the Internet, WJHL points out the station can be viewed in high definition for free by using a basic over-the-air antenna.
