Man breaks into Kingsport Dollar General, steals shaving items

KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly broke into a downtown store last week and stole shaving supplies.

According to the KPD, the break-in occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m., Oct. 12, at the Family Dollar located at 405 W. Sullivan St.

Authorities said an unidentified white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red athletic shorts and black hightop sneakers used a brick to break a hole in the store’s glass front door before unlocking it and going inside.

Once in the store, the man allegedly was reportedly seen on security camera footage taking several “inexpensive shaving-related items” before fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the KPD Criminal Investigations Division at (423) 229-9429 or Central Dispatch at (423) 246-9111.
