Sheriff: Drugs, tobacco, chewing gum found in Washington County jail inmate's 'pelvic region'

X-rays revealed that a Washington County jail inmate had drugs, tobacco and chewing gum stuffed in her "pelvic region," resulting in new charges, Sheriff Ed Graybeal said today.

Tasha Nicole Hale, 26, formerly of Washington College Road, reported to the jail on late Friday to serve 15 days on a previous charge.

Graybeal said investigators had received a tip that Hale was bringing contraband into the jail.

Nothing was found in a search, but X-rays revealed that she had a package inside her pelvic region. Deputies tried to get Hale to remove it, but she refused. She also refused requests from medical personnel to take it out.
