CHURCH HILL — A Church Hill man reportedly told police he lit a firecracker during an altercation Sunday afternoon on Old Union Road, but police allegedly found a spent .22 caliber shell casing at the scene.
Police also allegedly found Archie Osborne Jr., 41, 307 Old Union Road, Church Hill, in possession of a .22 caliber handgun during a traffic stop in Mount Carmel shortly after the altercation took place.
Around 4 p.m. Sunday, Church Hill Police Department Sgt. Chad Mosley was dispatched to a disturbance at 307 Old Union Road.
“I was told by Central Dispatch that a passerby had observed two males in the road, and one of the males pulled a gun on the other,” Mosley said. “While at the scene, I learned that Osborne had pulled a handgun on Anthony Houseright and fired one round in an unknown direction. Houseright was unsure in which direction the gun was fired and somewhat uncooperative.”
Mosley added, “The area this occurred in is a populated residential area.”
