JACKSON, Tenn — Police in Jackson have arrested four men and charged them with setting off bottle bombs on the campus of Union University last month.
Police say 18-year-old Collin McCartney of Humboldt, 19-year-old Jeffrey McCartney, 20-year-old James Barnes and 19-year-old Joseph Coley, all of Jackson, have been charged with two counts each of disorderly conduct.
Just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 22 and Sept. 26, Jackson police went to the campus in response to calls about explosions. Investigators found that chemical reaction devices had been set off on campus. There were no injuries or damage.
All four have been summoned to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex by Oct. 25 for booking and processing.
The following business day after processing, each will be required to appear in Jackson City Court for arraignment.
