Potter Insurance Solutions works to solve problems

With a family background in insurance, Matthew Potter’s goal as owner and independent agent at Potter Insurance Solutions is to solve problems. Because home and automobile insurance policies aren’t one-size-fits-all, he said he likes to spend 30 minutes to an hour with new clients before he offers them several options.

“After I talk to them and hear their needs, I’ll quote three or four companies as they sit there,” Potter said. “I do it for myself when I shop for insurance rates on my car insurance.

“When I shop, I want the best value for the money I spend,” he continued. “That’s the way I approach insurance. You’re paying for something you hopefully never have to use, but if you do, you want to know you have the best and most coverage for the amount of money you spent.”

Admittedly, since starting the business three years ago, he’s had a hard time stepping away from work after business hours. So even when he spends time with family and friends enjoying a concert or playing ultimate Frisbee, his office phone is forwarded to his cell phone.

“I’m never so far away that I can’t meet a client within an hour or so if it’s an emergency,” Potter said.

Potter Insurance Solutions is located at 1624 Highway 23 North, Suite 101, in Weber City, Va. Business hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 276-386-2223 or visit Potter Insurance Solutions on Facebook.
