ERWIN — Seeding held form Tuesday at the District 1-AA volleyball tournament being held at Unicoi County High School.
No. 1 Sullivan South cruised past Elizabethton 25-12, 25-12, 25-14 while No. 2 Sullivan East upended pesky Sullivan North 25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 25-15.
The Lady Rebels (39-8) will take on the Lady Patriots (24-19) on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the championship match.
Rylee Milhorn led South with 12 kills aand nine digs with Haley Price adding nine kills and six aces. Carrie Hall had 20 digs and Brayden Hutchins 12 for the Lady Rebs. Hannah Johnson dished out 15 assists for South.
Hannah Price had 20 kills and 21 digs to lead Sullivan East while Micaela Chaffin added 13 kills and seven digs. Kendall Ivester had 21 digs with Haley Roe setting 51 assists for the Lady Pats.
Makenna Smith led the Lady Raiders (14-15) with 17 kills and five digs with Hannah Dingus contributing 11 digs, five kills and three aces. Taylor Breeding dished out 30 assists for North.Read more in the Wednesday print edition of the Times-News or in the expanded electronic edition.
