GRAY — Down to their last gasp, the Dobyns-Bennett Indians found a way to beat Daniel Boone on Friday night.

Trailing by three points with 1:33 remaining in the game, Indians quarterback Josh Holt hit Caleb Cook with a 28-yard pass to keep the Tribe’s hopes alive. Six plays later, Trey Trammell plunged into the end zone from a yard out with 27.7 seconds left in the game to put D-B ahead for good.

Nick Sensabaugh recorded a safety moments later to put the wraps on a thrilling 35-29 victory for the Indians (4-3, 3-0), a key Big 7 Conference win for a young squad.

Gabe Sanders threw for 197 yards and a score, completing 11 of 18 pass attempts for Boone (3-3, 2-1). The touchdown pass was a 75-yard strike to Ryan Keever.

Sanders also ran for a score and Josh Bacon tallied two rushing TDs. Bacon led Boone with 93 rushing yards on 17 carries.

Trammell rumbled for two scores on the night, and Skylar East and Alijah Dunn ran for D-B’s other two offensive touchdowns. Palmer Begley returned an interception 65 yards to round out the Tribe’s scoring.
