ROGERSVILLE — Hundreds of vendors, both local and imported, are expected to line Clinch Valley Road in rural Hawkins County on Saturday for the 14th annual 12-Mile Yard Sale.
The yard sale was started by Clinch Valley residents as a fundraiser in their attempt to start a local community center. Although the community center project wasn’t successful, the yard sale was, and it has become one of the biggest attractions of its type in the region every year.
Event co-founder Lee Hoellman said visitors traveling Saturday along Clinch Valley Road shouldn’t be in a big hurry. There will be a lot of traffic, but that’s because there will be lots to stop to see.
Although some vendors will be set up Friday to get the premium locations, the event officially begins Saturday at 8 a.m. and continues until about 5 p.m.
Visitors can access Clinch Valley Road from crossroads at either end of the 12-mile stretch. From Highway 11-W in Mooresburg take Route 31 north, and from Highway 11-W in Rogersville take Route 70 north.
