KINGSPORT – The Kingsport Aquatic Center has shifted into fall and winter mode by announcing a host of new programs and classes, from deep water fitness to water aerobics and yoga.

The KAC  —  co-located with the YMCA Wellmont Center  —  is a 46,000-square-foot facility with three indoor pools (Olympic-size, warm-water and kid’s pool) and an outdoor water park consisting of a lazy river, a leisure pool with two water slides and a children’s play area.

The facility opened in May,  and over the summer months more than 100,000 visitors came through the doors to enjoy the aquatic amenities. While the outdoor water park closed for the season after Labor Day, the indoor pools remain open year-round and center officials have been working to plan events, programs and classes for the fall and winter seasons.
