KINGSPORT — Sullivan South, behind the power game of Rylee Milhorn and Haley Price, collected a 25-11, 25-16, 25-21 win over Sullivan North on Tuesday evening in a Three Rivers Conference volleyball matchup.
The duo combined for 35 kills en route to the sweep. Milhorn, who has signed with East Tennessee State, had 20 kills and Price contributed 15.
“Milhorn and Price are our big hitters and they definitely came through tonight. They were able to come through in that last game. They were able to put it down and keep us out of a sticky situation,” said South coach Wendy Ratliff.
In the first two games, the Lady Rebels built leads that were never threatened. The aforementioned “sticky situation” arose in Game 3 with North taking a 18-17 lead before South was able to slip away with the win.
Hannah Johnson led South with 27 assists and Carrie Hall added 17. Brayden Hutchins and Lauren Kelly had 10 kills each.
North’s Makenna Smith came up with 10 kills to go with six digs to lead the Lady Raiders.
With the regular-season winding down, both teams are making preparations for playoff appearances.
