BRISTOL, Tenn. — Dobyns-Bennett posted a team total of 296 to capture the boys District 1-AAA golf tournament held Monday at the Country Club of Bristol.
Science Hill, led by Peter Chang’s 72, finished second at 301 with Volunteer third at 311.
In the girls’ competition, medalist Allison Woodward’s 73 led the Lady Hilltoppers to the team title. Science Hill was first at 149 followed by Dobyns Bennett (168) and Daniel Boone (187).
The top three boys and girls teams qualified for the Region 1 tournament, which will be held Sept. 30 at Morristown Country Club.
Chang and D-B’s James Beckner finished regulation tied at 72. Chang birdied the second playoff off to win top honors.
After Woodward, Boone’s Haley Wagner and Science Hill’s Addie Baggarly tied at 76. Baggarly took the second-place medal after winning the first hole of a playoff.
