MACON, Ga. — The Atlantic Sun Conference named East Tennessee State volleyball standout Meredith Hardy its defensive player of the week on Monday.
The junior from Kingsport recorded 19 blocks in two matches, contributing to a total of 30.5 for the Lady Bucs in wins over Mercer and Kennesaw State over the weekend. She also had 18 kills. Hardy tallied 11 blocks, one off her career high and the most in the A-Sun this season, in 3-1 win over Kennesaw State.
She has recorded at least one block in 76 consecutive matches, and her 80 total blocks this season are 30 more than the nearest competitor among A-Sun players.
It was Hardy's second career player of the week award.
The Dobyns-Bennett High School alum helped lead ETSU to a 2-0 A-Sun record and into a tie with Stetson for first place in the league. The Lady Bucs have won four straight matches.
