KINGSPORT — The outcome pleased one team and had the other feeling poorly.
Sullivan Central survived a dominating performance from homestanding Sullivan South and came away with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.
The Lady Rebels (4-7-2) outshot the Lady Cougars 22-2 and had 10 shots on goal to Central’s two.
In the 64th minute, South had three shots in a row on an open goal and could not find net.
Central’s acrobatic goalkeeper, Hannah White, came up big time after time to preserve the tie.
In the 66th minute, the Lady Cougars (1-5-2) almost pulled off a miracle. Central defender Natasha Fair lofted a shot from 30 yards out that was deflected out of harm’s way at the last second by South keeper Ashley Luster.
Time ran out and Central went home happy while South could only ponder what might have been.
