KINGSPORT - Due to the weather forecast for heavy rains Saturday, track promoter Robert Pressley has rescheduled a major Late Model race scheduled for Saturday night until Oct 19th.

With several Late Model Stock Car teams traveling from other states, and the probability for rain very high Saturday, there was concern that the forecast would keep teams from making the long trip.

"This is unfortunate but beyond our control," Pressley said. "We are expecting a great field of cars for this event . Hope to see everyone at the rescheduled date."

The invitational, also known as the "Friends of Coal - We Support Coal Miners 125" will pay $2,000 to win, but that isn't the main attraction to competitors.

Taking a page from the playbook of Martinsville Speedway, which hosts a major Late Model invitational race each fall as well, the winner will also receive a grandfather clock valued at over $3,000
