Sullivan County sheriff's deputies prepared to make entry into the Sullivan County Health Department during an "active shooter drill" Thursday morning.
The sheriff's department staged the drill in cooperation with the Sullivan County Health Department as part of an ongoing training program.
According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Leslie Earhart, the scenario involved a domestic violence situation where a man had threatened to kill his wife. He had located her at the Health Department with two friends where she way having tests done.
In the scenario, the shooter begins firing, hitting three employees and killing his wife. The scenario goes on to state that the wife and the shooter were pronounced dead at the scene and five people were transported to hospitals.
