Two arrested, two still sought in Kingsport hit and run

Kayla Clark, 20, and Shane Stallard, 33

KINGSPORT — Police are searching for the occupants of a car that spurred a four-vehicle collision Friday afternoon, while two acquaintances accused of driving them from the scene have been arrested.

The incident occurred at 11:40 a.m. at the intersection of West Stone Drive and Fairview Avenue. An investigation revealed that a westbound Volvo rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped in traffic, pushing it forward into another car. A fourth vehicle farther ahead was also struck, with Kingsport police saying four victims received non-life-threatening injuries.

The Volvo, later learned to be driven by Robin Kincheloe, reportedly drove around the crash and stopped a short distance away. Police say Kincheloe and a passenger, Allen Light, then ran to the nearby Walgreens.

In the parking lot, they allegedly found two acquaintances: Kayla Clark, 20, of 425 Allen Drive, Apartment 32, and Shane Stallard, 33, of 442 Gravely Road. Police say the pair witnessed the crash and willingly drove Kincheloe and Light away from the area.

The car they used was later located at a residence on Fairview Avenue. Police say Clark and Stallard were also present but initially denied being at Walgreens, seeing the crash or giving a lift to Kincheloe and Light.

"Their deception greatly hindered the investigation and any hopes of apprehending Kincheloe and Light while they were still in the immediate area," said KPD Public Information Officer Tom Patton.

Clark and Stallard were arrested and charged with filing a false police report. Warrants have been obtained for both Kincheloe, who was driving on a revoked license, and Light. They are charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury.

Police attempts to locate the pair have proved unsuccessful. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call central dispatch at (423) 246-9111.

Kincheloe, 39, has a last known address of 141 Holiday Hills Road, while the address for Light, 42, is listed as 2104 Fort Henry Drive.
