ELIZABETHTON — Nicholas Willien, a 15-year-old Happy Valley student, was indicted on second-degree murder charges by a Carter County grand jury on Monday and is expected to stand trial as an adult.

Willen is accused in the stabbing death of Elijah McKinney, 16,  on Dec. 16, 2012 on Cash Hollow Road.

A transfer order to move the case Juvenile Court to Criminal Court has not yet been signed by Juvenile Court Judge John Walton, but officials expect that document to be executed today.
