A look back at the most viewed crime stories written by the Times-News staff, for the week of Aug. 30 through Sept, 6.

1) Man charged with indecent exposure at Kingsport Walmart

A registered sex offender has been charged with indecent exposure by Kingsport police after a woman and her daughter allegedly observed him fondling himself in a parking lot.

2) Driver faces child restraint charges in rollover crash

Police are investigating the crash of an SUV loaded with six people — including four children, one an infant, — after it crossed Lynn Garden Drive and flipped into the yard of a residence.

3) Bloomingdale woman finds alleged burglar in her bed

A Sullivan County woman found an unknown man lying in her bed on Wednesday afternoon, with him allegedly telling her to "get out of my house" before pouring himself a drink in the kitchen.

4) Hawkins trio arrested in drug sting

Three people have been arrested in a narcotics investigation by the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office, accused of dealing prescription drugs to an undercover officer.

5) Kingsport valet reportedly steals guest's Buick

A valet attendant at the MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center has been arrested after allegedly stealing a guest's vehicle, then returning with it to work the next day.

6) Kingsport stabbing victim taken to hospital

Kingsport police officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 1338 Holyoke St.  shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, according to a release from Detective Sgt. Chris Tincher.

7) Hawkins County woman loses $4,000 in ‘work at home’ scam from Craigslist

A Hawkins County woman told the sheriff’s office last week she lost nearly $4,000 in a “work at home” Internet scam after replying to an ad on Craigslist.com.

8) Two charged in arson of Sullivan barn

Two residents of Bristol, Tenn., have been arrested after a flaming roll of paper towels was thrown at a Sullivan County barn.

9) KPD: Driver hits school bus after running red light

A Church Hill man has been cited by police after allegedly running a red light Wednesday morning and striking a Kingsport city school bus loaded with children.

10) Wanted Kingsport man jumps from moving vehicle

A wanted Kingsport man reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle when spotted by police on Wednesday afternoon, leading Church Hill officers on a pair of foot pursuits.
