KINGSPORT — A Wednesday morning, two-vehicle collision on East Stone Drive sent one vehicle over on its side, while the other driver who allegedly caused the crash was transported to the hospital.
Kingsport Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Patton says the incident occurred at 7:35 a.m. A 2008 Toyota RAV4 was westbound on Stone Drive, preparing to make a right hand turn onto Arbutus Avenue.
As the Toyota slowed it was rear-ended by a Saturn sedan. Patton says the impact caused the Toyota to rotate and overturn. It came to rest with its roof against an embankment just before Arbutus.
The driver of the SUV was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released.
The driver of the Saturn, Amy Feagins, 33, of 1805 Happy Hill Road, Kingsport, was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Feagins was also cited in the incident for failure to exercise due care and failure to have insurance.
