Sheriff's deputy says Telford man allowed three children to live in filth

A Telford man wanted on a driving charge was arrested Thursday, but with additional charges of child neglect after a sheriff's deputy found three children living in filth in his home, according to records.

Michael R. Hill, 39, 180 Stockyard Rd., was first arrested on an outstanding warrant for driving on a suspended license, but was also charged with three counts of child abuse and neglect. Two of the counts are misdemeanors and the third is a felony because of the child’s age.

According to a court document, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy John Foister responded to Hill’s residence on the warrant, but immediately saw a lot of trash on the property and detected a foul odor coming from the house.
