KPD  asks public for help in locating counterfeit check suspect

Kingsport police are seeking this man.

KINGSPORT — Kingsport police are seeking a male suspect who cashed counterfeit checks worth close to $1,000. 

The suspect is described by police as a white male, approximately 5'10' tall, slim build, clean shaven, short brown hair and is in his late 20s or early 30s. He used the alias "Austin Bell."

The counterfeit checks were cashed in Kingsport on Aug. 10 at two different Food City locations, 300 Clinchfield Street and 1205 North Eastman Road. 

The suspect has also cashed other counterfeit checks at numerous other locations throught the Tri-Cities region, according to police. He was last seen driving a late model teal green Audi four-door station wagon.
