Bryan Kiser and Ryan Kiser

Update: 2 p.m.

Kingsport twins face multiple charges, according to police, after they were caught stealing a Pepsi machine with a Ford Mustang that contained city-owned drain covers.

Records at the Kingsport Police Department say the incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. Friday at Allen Creek Apartments, 403 Allen Drive. An officer responding to a report of theft in progress spotted two men running from a 1998 Ford Mustang into an apartment.

Police say that a Pepsi vending machine had been loaded onto a trailer attached to the back of the car. A police report lists the machine’s value at $3,000, while the officer says scuff marks were observed from, "moving the machine from the parking lot."

The men who ran into the apartment upon police arrival were identified as Ryan S. Kiser and Bryan D. Kiser, each 18. Arrest reports list their addresses as 108 and 109 Kinsely Ave., respectively.

Police also say their car was discovered to contain 10 metal, city of Kingsport storm drain covers, valued at $1,500. An investigation reportedly revealed they had been stolen during the night from Rose Garden Circle in the Windridge Estates subdivision.

Both of the brothers were arrested and transported to the city jail. They are charged with two counts each of theft of property over $1,000, along with evading arrest for fleeing from police into the apartment.
