NEW ORLEANS — The Tiger Rock Martial Arts Academy in Johnson City won the Youth Team Open Sparring world title at the TaeKwonDo World Championships on July 11-13.
More than 1,700 students from Tiger Rock schools around the world competed for medals in board breaking, sparring, forms, Elite Counter Aggression Skills and other categories.
Christopher Haskins earned gold in sparring, team open sparring, bronze in forms and board breaking. Daniel Haskins won gold in sparring and bronze in board breaking. Aleksey Prokhnevskiy got gold in team open sparring and rank sparring and bronze in board breaking.
Jennifer Prokhnevksiy earned silver in board breaking and Sonya Haskins took silver in ECAS and bronze in board breaking. Hannah Haskins picked up a bronze in forms.
Members of the Kingsport Tiger Rock Academy also medaled at the competition.
Ben Greene captured gold in board breaking with Jessie Greene taking gold in rank sparring, gold in forms and silver in board breaking.
Gabriel Ruefer took a silver in rank sparring and board braking while Jordan Smith took home gold in rank sparring, silver in board breaking and bronze in free design forms.
Patrick Ruefer won silver in forms, bronze in open sparring, free design forms, rank sparring and board breaking.
