Kingsport Speeday announces invitational Late Model race

KINGSPORT – The local NASCAR Whelen All-American divisions
at Kingsport Speedway are taking a breather this week, but news of a big Late
Model race coming up in September gave everyone something to talk about.

Details are scarce at this point, but the track announced a Late Model
invitational race that is scheduled to be run at Kingsport Speedway on Sept.
21. The 125-lap event will pay $2,000 to the race winner along with a
grandfather clock similar to the ones handed out to race winners at Martinsville

More details are expected to be revealed in the days and weeks ahead.

With the regular divisions off this week, the Knights of Destruction will be
putting on a thrill show on Saturday night. The event will feature a school bus
race, a demolition derby and a variety of stunts.
